Corporate Social Responsibility

Pacific Petroleum is a family of individuals from diverse religious and ethnic background. To celebrate our diversity, we have developed programs to assist communities across the country. We are running the following program under our Corporate Social Responsibility in DRC.

Food for Child

Nutritious food for children = bright future of DRC

A healthy start in life is something that every child deserves. However, there are far too many starving children in Africa who suffer from chronic hunger. In sub-Saharan Africa, shocking 28 million children are experiencing stunted growth due to malnutrition. Stunting prevents children from developing to their full potential mentally and physically, and it is largely irreversible.

Children who have severe acute malnutrition, the deadliest form of extreme hunger, can succumb to the disease in just a few days. Children who die in this way suffer immensely as their vital organ functions slow down and eventually stop.

A simple but concrete way to offer underprivileged children a chance to study and thrive is to provide a meal at school. School food programmes can assist students get to and stay in school, increasing enrolment and lowering absenteeism.

We Pacific group has adopted 3 selected rural schools in Kinshasa and has been providing them nutritious food. The school feeding program has sparked behavioural changes among children including hand washing, good eating habits, nutritional, and hygiene practices.
